Roy E. Dobbins, 67, a former resident of Elyria, died Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Chillicothe after a long illness. He was born in Braxton County, W.Va., and lived in Elyria before moving to Piketon, Ohio. He worked for the Elyria Telephone Co. for five years before joining the General Telephone Co., where he worked for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Communications Workers of America and the VFW in Beaver, Ohio. He also was a former member of the Eastern Local Board of Education. During the Korean War, he_______________ Infantry Division, and had been of prisoner of war. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marry Lou Dobbins. Services were Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home in Beaver, with the Rev. Frank Williams officiating. Burial was in Mount Latham Cemetery. Submitted by Cheryl (Frame) Brown 25 Nov. 2014
