Dobbins, 71, of Grafton, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. Ron was born April 20, 1941 in Clem, W. Va. to the late Pastor CC Jack and Eunice Dobbins. He was raised in West Virginia and resided in Lorain County for over 50 years. Ron was very active in FFA while in high school and was an achiever in the electrical field. He was a lifelong member of the farm bureau and enjoyed raising beef cattle, harvesting hay and going to farm auctions. He was a lifelong member of Dessie Baptist Church, Clem, W. Va. and was a charter member of the Elyria Baptist Church. He had worked as a CNC Machinist with Bendix and Lear Romec, both in Elyria, for many years. Ron was a 20 year member of the Country Cousins Bluegrass Band. He was a gifted musician, master of the fiddle, among many other instruments. Ron won first place in many music contests, including WGAR and the State of Ohio contests. He wrote and published many of his own songs. The Southern Tradition Bluegrass Band consisting of Ron, his wife Sandy, the Collins Family and Ron Buckwald performed at churches, nursing homes and at various benefits. Ron and Sandy enjoyed volunteering during the Christmas season as Santa and his Elf. Ron was loved by all including many Amish friends and will be greatly missed by all of the lives he has touched. Survived by his wife Sandy (Neumeyer) of 19 years, son Raymond, step daughters Tammy, Terri and Joni, six grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers. Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 20 1-4 p.m. at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City, OH. Funeral Service will be Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, 1 p.m. at the Richard Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street Gassaway, W. VA 26624, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the funeral service. Burial will be held in Clem, W. VA. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are suggested.
