COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Mae Loftis Bennett, 93, of Clawson, Mich., formerly of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sat., July 10, from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sat., July 10, at the funeral home. Mrs. Bennett died on Wed., July 7, 1999, at Alexander Living Center in Royal Oak, Mich. She was born on March 16, 1906, in Putnam County to the late Murray and Dora Franklin Loftis. Mrs. Bennett was a former member of West View Baptist Church in Cookeville. Her family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and William Cantrell of Clawson; a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Glen and Joyce Bennett of Manchester; a half sister, Cora Walker of Monterey; a half brother, Jay Loftis of Monterey; four grandchildren, Alan Cantrell of West Bloomingfield, Mich., Sherry Cantrell of Royal Oak, Mich., Glenda Hall of Manchester, and Glendora Stringfield of Waldo, Ark.; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
