Burial and graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2001, at the Holly Spring Cemetery in Hilham. Mrs. Wasson died December 30, 2000, in Joshua Tree, CA. She retired from Rockwell International after serving as parts expeditor for 30 years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose organization. Born February 26, 1929, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruby (Hughes) Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Wasson, and a brother, Vanis Carter. Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Danny D. and Christine Wasson, Mira Loma, CA, Darrell E. and Cindy Wasson, Germany, David A. and Millie Wasson, Morongo Valley, CA, and Dale A. Wasson, Las Vegas, NV; five brothers, R.D. Carter and Junior Carter, both of Livingston, Sammy Carter, Hilham, Billy Carter, Sacramento, CA, and Jimmy Carter, Akron, OH; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Luther Cook, Akron, OH, Inez Wakefield, Salt Lake City, UT, Oleda Norris, Hilham, and Linda and Norman Morgan, Cookeville; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
