James Hunter officiating. Burial, with military honors performed by James T. Davis Post 5062 of Livingston, was in Holly Springs Cemetery. Mr. Carter died Friday, April 29 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was retired from the United States Air Force. Born January 4, 1928, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Raymond A. and Ruby (Hughes) Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Vanis Carter and Junior Carter; and a sister, Murrell Dean Wasson. Survivors include the mother of his children, Nell (Fleming) Carter of Hilham; 3 daughters, Marilyn Joiner and Helen Gish, both of Anchorage, AK, and Carol Parr of Hilham; 3 brothers, Billy Carter of Sacramento, CA, Jimmy Carter of Westville, IN, and Sam Carter of Rickman; 4 sisters, Oleeta Norris of Hilham, Inez Ford of Murray, UT, Betty Cook of Akron, OH, and Linda Morgan of Cookeville; 5 grandchildren, Mandy Dore-mire, Phillip Carter, Adrian Doremire, Helena Jenkins, and Chelsey Nickerson; and 2 great grandchildren, Bryce Chelini and Johnny Womack. Special care provided by Speck Funeral Home.
